Itinerary builder

For: Agents (paid add-on, per-seat) Where to find it: Sidebar → Itinerary BuilderMy itineraries

The itinerary builder turns a trip you've planned in Touri Chat into a polished, branded client proposal. You refine the draft in a live builder, publish it as a shareable web link, and download a matching PDF. Every proposal is rendered through one of your proposal templates, so everything you send out looks consistently on-brand.

The builder is a paid add-on for agent accounts, billed per seat — the first seat costs more than each additional one. See Itinerary Builder seats for enabling it and managing who has access.

Building your own supplier rate library is a separate add-on, the Rates Engine. You don't need it to use the builder: without it, Add from suppliers simply offers content shared with you on Tourium rather than rates you uploaded yourself.

What you'll see

The Itineraries page lists every draft and published itinerary with its title, client, status (Draft, Published, or Archived), and last-updated date. From here you can open, delete, or build a new itinerary. The hero also links to Template & branding if you manage templates.

Opening an itinerary takes you into the full-screen builder with three panes (on mobile, tabs let you switch between Assistant, Preview, and Edit):

  • Assistant (left) — an embedded Touri travel-assistant chat scoped to this trip. Describe the trip or ask for changes in plain English.
  • Client preview (centre) — a live render of the proposal exactly as your client will see it, using your chosen template.
  • Edit (right) — structured editing: itinerary details, day-by-day content, and the inclusions/exclusions/terms sections.

A top bar shows the save status ("Saving…" / "All changes saved"), a Template switcher, and the Publish button.

Common tasks

Build an itinerary from a conversation

  1. Plan a trip in Touri Chat first — the builder needs a conversation that contains a trip (destinations, dates, properties).
  2. Open Itinerary Builder → My itineraries.
  3. Click Build from a conversation, pick the conversation, and click Build itinerary.
  4. A draft opens in the builder, pre-populated with a day-by-day structure from the trip. Where a day's lodge matches a property from your imported supplier content, the description and photos are filled in automatically.

If you haven't planned anything yet, the page tells you: "No conversations with a trip yet. Plan a trip in Touri chat, then come back to build it."

Refine the trip by chat

Type into the Assistant pane — "add two nights in the Okavango after Chobe", "swap the lodge on day 3". When the conversation's trip moves ahead of your draft:

  • If you haven't made manual edits, the draft updates automatically and a toast confirms "Itinerary updated from the conversation."
  • If you have made manual edits, a banner appears — Updates from the assistant — with a Review & apply button. Applying refreshes the trip's days while keeping your manual work (day descriptions, images, introduction, inclusions and terms).

Edit days by hand

In the Edit pane's Days section you can:

  • Edit each day's Property / lodge and Description.
  • Click Add image to attach photos from your media library.
  • Click Add day, and drag days to reorder them.
  • Click Add from suppliers to drop in a property, pre-filled with its description and photos. This offers content shared with you by suppliers on Tourium, plus — if you have the Rates Engine add-on — properties from rate sheets you uploaded yourself (see Uploading supplier rates).

Fill in the details and standard content

The Details section holds the itinerary title, client name and email, an optional cover image (overrides the template's cover for this itinerary), and an introduction. The Inclusions, exclusions & terms section holds inclusions and exclusions (one per line), terms and conditions, and a footer note — or click Apply template defaults to pull in your template's standard content.

Publish and share

  1. Click Publish in the top bar. Tourium generates a snapshot and a shareable link.
  2. Open the Share menu to Copy link, Preview the public page, open Analytics, or download the PDF.
  3. Use Link options to add a password (clients must enter it to view) and an expiry date.

Your client opens the link in any browser — no Tourium account needed. They see the full proposal (day by day, where they'll stay, a route map, rates, gallery — whatever blocks your template includes) and can Share it, Add to calendar, Download PDF, or send an enquiry.

If you edit a published itinerary, a banner reminds you the live link is out of date — click Republish now to update it, or Unpublish to take the link offline.

Check how a client engaged

Open Analytics from the share menu (or the itinerary list) to see total views, unique visitors, enquiries, and engagement events like gallery views, map interactions, and PDF downloads. Analytics only start once the itinerary is published.

Delete an itinerary

Click Delete on the itinerary list and confirm. This removes the draft and takes any shared link offline — there's no undo.

Good to know

  • You must start from a Touri conversation. There's no blank-itinerary option; the trip structure comes from the chat.
  • Drafts auto-save — watch the save status in the top bar. If you see "Conflict - reload", someone else edited the same itinerary; reload before continuing.
  • Deleted library images degrade to a neutral placeholder on published pages rather than a broken image.
  • The PDF is rendered from the published version with your full template styling, so publish (or republish) before sending a PDF.
