Specials

A special is a time-limited promotional offer you send to agents — a seasonal discount, a flash sale, a package deal, an early-booking incentive. Each special is built around an uploaded flyer or document that spells out the terms; you add a short title and description, set the validity window, choose who gets it, and Tourium handles the rest — recipients, email notifications, and the expiry.
Common tasks
Create a special
- Open Manage Specials.
- Click Create New Special.
- Fill in the form:
- Title (required) — e.g., "Easter Holiday Promo" or "Winter Early-Booker".
- Description — what the offer is, in plain language.
- Valid from (required) — when the offer starts.
- Valid to — when the offer ends.
- File (required) — upload a PDF or image with the flyer or terms. Every special needs one.
- Recipients — pick specific agents from your connections.
- Send notification — leave this on so recipients get an email.
- Click to create the special.
The special is created and every recipient gets an email pointing them to their Specials Feed.
Manage existing specials
Your specials list shows each one as a card with its title, valid-from to valid-to range, recipient count, and a status badge. From the card you can edit, archive, resend, or delete (usually behind a three-dot menu).
Specials have three statuses:
- Active — live and visible to recipients.
- Inactive — paused. You can reactivate later without recreating the special.
- Archived — finished with. Agents still see it in their feed marked as archived.
On top of the status, a special is automatically treated as expired once its valid-to date passes — that's shown as an expiry badge on the card rather than as a separate status.
Use the status filter at the top of the list to show only active specials, or search by title.
Edit a special
- Click Edit on the card.
- Update any field, including the status (Active / Inactive / Archived).
- You can replace the uploaded file if you need to correct the flyer.
- Save.
You can edit a special at any time, though once its valid-to date has passed, a new special is usually a cleaner approach than reviving an expired one.
Archive a special
Click Archive on the card and confirm. The special stops being the headline offer but stays in history for both you and the agents who received it. Archiving doesn't send any notification.
Resend a special
If you want to remind agents who haven't engaged yet, click Resend. A dialog lets you pick who to resend to — typically a subset of the original recipients. The chosen agents get another email.
Delete a special
Use Delete (from the three-dot menu or inline button) and confirm. Deletion removes the special from your list entirely.
Tips
- Specials work best when they're short and specific. "30% off January nights, book by Dec 20" is more compelling than "special winter rates".
- The uploaded flyer is the thing agents actually forward to their own clients. Make it branded and clean — it's doing the selling for you.
- Send to a connection list instead of every agent — targeted promotions get better response rates than broadcasts.
- The valid to date is when the special expires automatically. Set it realistically so agents know how long they've got.
