Billing and subscriptions
For: Organisation owners and admins Where to find it: Sidebar → your organisation name → Billing
How billing works depends on whether you're a supplier or an agent, and the two are quite different.
- Suppliers use Tourium free. There is no supplier plan to buy and no charge per property or service. You only ever pay for optional add-ons you switch on.
- Agents pay per seat, and can add optional add-ons on top.
Suppliers
Your account is free
Listing your properties and services, having rate sheets extracted by AI, sharing them with agents, e-signatures, the shared library and Touri Chat are all included at no cost.
The Billing page shows Your account rather than a plan, because there is only one supplier offering and it's free. You'll see what's included, and a summary of any add-ons you've switched on.
The 30 property and service limit
A free account covers up to 30 properties and service providers combined.
This limits adding new ones. It never affects what you already have:
- Nothing you've added is ever removed, hidden, archived, locked or charged for.
- A rate sheet you've already reviewed saves in full, even if it takes you past 30. Sheets are never split or partly saved. Two cases need a quick conversation first: you're already at the limit, or that single sheet would take you to more than double it. Your reviewed sheet is kept either way and saves as soon as the limit is raised.
- Once you're at the limit, adding more needs a quick conversation with our team, who can raise it for you. There's no plan to upgrade to and nothing to pay — just click Talk to our team.
Tourium warns you as you approach the limit, so the conversation happens before you hit it.
Paid add-ons
Add-ons are the only thing a supplier is billed for — for example Tourplan Rate Sync, which pushes your rates straight into Tourplan.
Because your account itself is free, switching on your first paid add-on sets up a payment arrangement for it. You'll be asked to confirm first, and told what your add-ons will come to per month, before any payment page opens. Nothing is charged until you complete checkout.
Switching an add-on off also asks you to confirm, and shows what your monthly cost drops to. Access stops immediately; your rates, properties and services are never affected.
Agents
Agent plans are per seat. The Billing page shows your current plan, its price, and whether you're billed monthly or annually, plus metric cards for chat tokens and team seats.
Upgrade or downgrade
- Click Upgrade on the Billing page and choose your billing interval.
- Click through to payment — Tourium redirects you to PayFast.
- Complete payment and you're returned to Billing with a confirmation.
To downgrade, click Downgrade and confirm. You keep your current plan's features until the end of the billing period, then move to the free agent plan.
Agent add-ons
- Itinerary Builder — the itinerary building and quoting tools, billed per seat. The first seat costs more than each additional one, so adding people gets cheaper as you grow. See Itinerary Builder seats.
- Rates Engine — upload, extract and manage your own supplier rate sheets, and ask Touri about them. See Rates Engine.
Enabling an add-on part-way through a cycle charges a prorated amount immediately, then the full price each cycle. Disabling one removes it from your bill from the next cycle.
Things that apply to everyone
Cancel or resume
If you cancel, your subscription enters a grace period — you keep access until the end of the billing period. A banner appears with a Resume Subscription button, which reactivates immediately at no extra cost. Once the grace period ends the subscription is fully cancelled.
Suppliers have no account subscription to cancel; switching off an add-on is the equivalent.
A payment that's still processing
If a payment is being verified, a yellow Payment Pending banner appears. Wait a few minutes and refresh. If you're stuck, use Contact sales.
A failed payment
If a charge fails (expired card, insufficient funds), you don't lose access straight away:
- You get an email — "Action needed: your payment didn't go through" — with an Update payment details button. You keep full access for 7 days while Tourium retries.
- Reminder emails follow every couple of days during that window.
- If a charge succeeds in that window, everything continues as normal.
- If none succeeds, the paid part of your account stops. For suppliers this only affects add-ons — your properties, services and rates are untouched, and your free account continues as normal. For agents, the account moves to the free agent plan.
The affected invoice shows a Past Due badge on the Invoices page.
Buy more chat tokens or e-signatures
Click Buy More to open the top-up modal. Top-ups credit immediately and don't change anything else about your account. See Top-up packs.
Tips
- Suppliers: if you need more than 30 properties and services, don't look for an upgrade button — there isn't one. Use Talk to our team and we'll raise your limit.
- Every add-on change asks you to confirm and tells you the new monthly figure first, in both directions.
- Agents: changing your billing interval to annual usually saves money; click through the upgrade flow to compare.
- Need terms that aren't on the public list? Use Contact sales.
