Touri Chat
For: Everyone Where to find it: Sidebar → Touri Chat
Touri Chat is the built-in AI assistant. You ask it questions in plain English and it answers using the data in your Tourium account — your properties, rates, contracts, connections, and shared documents. Agents use it to find rates quickly; suppliers use it to summarise contracts and look up pricing details across rate sheets.
What you can ask
Touri Chat is trained to work with Tourium's data, so it's most useful for questions like:
- "What rates do I have for Cape Town next December?"
- "Summarise the Botswana partnership agreement."
- "Which suppliers in my network offer activities under R1,000?"
- "What properties am I managing right now?" (supplier)
It can't browse the general web, and it won't make up information it doesn't have. If a question is outside its data, it will say so.
What you'll see
- A sidebar on the left listing your recent chat sessions. The current session is highlighted.
- The chat area on the right showing messages in order, with the assistant's replies streaming in as they're generated.
- An input box at the bottom with the placeholder "Ask me anything..." and a send button.
If you've never chatted before, you'll see a welcome card with some suggestion bubbles to get you started.
Rich answers
Touri doesn't only answer in text. Depending on the question, an answer can include:
- Property cards — a card for a single property with its category, star rating, and room or activity details.
- Property tables — a sortable table when several properties match, with names, categories, prices, and ratings.
- Maps — an interactive map with a pin per property; click a pin for its name, price, and description.
- Citations — small numbered markers in the answer that point to the source documents, with a sources list underneath. Click one to see exactly where a figure came from.
Images shown in an answer follow the same sharing rules as the shared library. Touri will never show an agent a supplier photo that supplier hasn't shared with them, so an image an agent can't open in Partner Documents won't turn up in a chat answer either.
Agents who upload their own supplier rate sheets will also see a source label on quoted rates — Your upload, Shared by {supplier}, or Shared content — so it's always clear where a price originates.
Common tasks
Start a new chat
- Click Touri Chat in the sidebar.
- Click New Chat in the sessions list, or click one of the suggestion bubbles.
- Type your question and press Enter (or click the send button).
- The assistant streams its answer word-by-word. When it's done, the Stop button disappears.
Ask a follow-up
Keep typing in the same session. Touri Chat remembers the conversation context, so you can ask "what about double rooms?" after a question about "Cape Town rates".
Rate an answer
Hover over an assistant message and two feedback buttons appear — a thumbs-up and a thumbs-down. Click one to rate the response. You can optionally leave a short comment. This feedback helps Tourium improve the assistant over time.
Rate the whole conversation
Once a session gets going (after a few messages), a small card appears in the chat asking "How helpful has this chat been?" Click thumbs-up or thumbs-down, optionally add a comment ("Anything we could do better?"), and click Send feedback — or dismiss it with Not now. Each session asks at most once; your answer (or dismissal) is remembered even after a reload.
Rename a session
Right-click (or open the context menu on) a session in the sidebar and choose Rename. Type a new name and save. Good names make old chats easier to find.
Delete a session
Right-click a session and choose Delete. The session and all its messages are removed. There is no undo.
Switch between sessions
Click any session in the sidebar list to load it. Your messages appear in the chat area; you can continue an old conversation or just review it.
Chat tokens
Each question you send costs chat tokens from your plan's allowance. You can see how many tokens you have left on the Billing page.
- Tokens are counted after the assistant finishes responding, based on how much of the model's context the answer used.
- When you run out, a Chat Limit Reached dialog appears with a Buy More button that takes you to Top-up packs. If you're running out regularly, talk to our team.
Tips
- Be specific. "Show me December rates for Phinda" works better than "show me rates".
- Ask one question at a time — you'll get cleaner, faster answers.
- If the assistant gives you a thin answer, try rewording or adding context ("I'm looking for an agent-facing contract template").
- If a session stops streaming unexpectedly, click New Chat and try again. Tourium will auto-retry a few times before giving up.
